Small inset articles within the main articles in both The Times and the 'i' regarding the trouble... Rather than the back cover articles from the Man United game.

UEFA deserve criticism too though for staging a European final in a ground with a 38k capacity.

Re: UEFA Cup final
Oh and as for the punch up in the ground...

West Ham Millwall supposedly fucked up the completely already rigged World Cup bid for England...

And bottle throwing the other day brought England back to the DARK DAYS....

Meanwhile Liverpool in a european final again, causing havoc and having a punch up in the ground....not their fault. No throw back to the 80's at all.

Re: UEFA Cup final
He's inherited a shit team, once he brings in his own players Liverpool will improve dramatically.

Just thought it was funny last night, the biased pundits in McManaman and Owen both said how the players have improved under Klopp, even though theyve had their worst top flight finish in 62 years.

And then at half time, saying Sevilla suggested nothing of getting anything out of the game and within 16 seconds it was 1-1.

I like Klopp, just a shame he's the manager of such a disgusting football club.

Re: UEFA Cup final
I don't get the grief Klopp is getting to be honest. He was defeated by penalties in the League Cup, a final he helped them get to when they smashed Southampton away 6-1.

He defeated Dortmund and Man Utd, two regular CL sides and got to another final.

They used to be seen as achievements but this day and age it's now a disaster.

Both Europa and Champions League football was seen as a bit of a long shot for him when he took over, and he did a great job in the cups to almost get there.

Had he have got his side knocked out earlier, it seems like it would have been better for him rather than losing in the finals.

Liverpool's best season in something like 2 decades was when they didn't play in Europe neither.

Also, all this Klopp 5 finals, always the bridesmaid stuff....how many other coaches has got to 5 finals in 3 years? Especially english coaches?

I suppose the press like us, only find it worth printing when it's the punch bags of Europe taking a pasting anywhere, to give us the extra ammunition to take the piss out of Spurs over :o)

In the Times this morning there was a small section a few pages in from the back relating to the trouble. The first line of which was along the lines of 'uefa today face more questions today regarding the location after scuffles broke out etc etc'

Takashi Miike 1:55 Thu May 19

causing trouble away from the ground too, where's the condemnation from the british press?

They might as well rename it The Sevilla Cup.

I wouldn't stake a large sum on it but I do fancy Liverpool to come strong next season, not being in Europe will ob be a benefit.

If us and Southampton can build in the summer then I think there's going to be the closest top half in recent years.

You could well be right there stew0, but wouldn't it be nice if they were not and Klopp starts getting it in the ear.

Re: UEFA Cup final
had they won last night I'd have very much agreed Stewie

However having no European football at all may be a hinderance to signing some of the top players they been linked with

If I was a betting man, I'd put a large sum on them being top 4 next season

Re: UEFA Cup final
It is indeed the "Hillsborough effect". They are immune for many years to criticism. So many media pundits are Scousers (ex players from the successful decades) that they get unfair bias. Southampton are getting ahead of them and hopefully us too going forward (takes a few seasons ).

I am looking forward to the apologetic coverage of Klopp the messiah in the next few days. :-) It will make me squirm and laugh in equal proportion :-)
